Gratitude. Once, it saved my life. I needed it. Desperately. I drank it, breathed it, let it fill me up so there was no room for anything else. Out with the bad. Ahhh... But years pass, vital things are easily forgotten. Especially when you get comfortable. Now, I'm almost too comfortable.

One of the deepest, most heartfelt articles on #aphantasia I’ve ever read. And very up-to-date. With lots of detail about the history of the discovery process, going back much further than I’d known.

Unfortunately, behind a paywall. Well worth it, though. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound
Research has linked the ability to visualize to a bewildering variety of human traits—how we experience trauma, hold grudges, and, above all, remember our lives.

Starship Test Flight #11 as close to perfection as it gets on all aspects, including testing out a tight twisting final approach path before landing on a dime in the Indian Ocean. Next step, Starship Catch!

#WTA Wow. Very excited to watch the Wuhan final. Can’t believe the betting odds favor Coco, though. Sure, she’s higher ranked and has the flashier game but Jessie is so calm and steady-tough, like stainless steel. I’m predicting another win for Three-Sets-Jess.

#WTA Pegula in set 3 semi final Wuhan! Amazing calmness, coming back from 2-5 down! Jessie Three Sets!! 8 in a row!

Seems #ATProto / Bluesky use and adoption has stalled out. Is anyone talking about this issue? Are there any viable options for growing the base?

#WTA Has anyone noticed how much nicer is Hawkeye’s “Out” voice at the China events compared to the west?

Set 3, 3 all, high level tightrope act for both. Who wants it more? Pegula or Noskova? WTA is the best!

Why is TC not airing the WTA semi final? Instead they’re showing ATP? WTF?

Will Amanda change her story? Tonight is such a golden opportunity for her, so soon after such a devastating loss. She has shown amazing resilience. My fingers are crossed for tonight.

Such an odd thing — racists never think they’re racist, misogynists never think they’re misogynists, abusers never think they’re abusers, and narcissists never think they’re narcissists — even when everyone else can see it so clearly. It’s just so baffling.

#WTA Raducanu going toe to toe with the #1 is so good for the sport. Very exciting night for the tennis world, even if she doesn’t win the match. So entertaining. Both are playing such steady high level tennis.

Raise your hand if you think Musk willingly gave up or was forced to give up the vast access to US government data troves he had when still working with DOGE?

Yeah, thought so... neither do I.
DOGE has the keys to sensitive data that could help Elon Musk
In at least seven major departments or agencies, DOGE secured the power to view records that experts say could benefit Elon Musk’s businesses for years.

Does anyone else find this hilarious? Everyone has been warning about this since the GOP first started talking about mass deportation. Suddenly, only now, Trump gets it? What did he think would happen if you arrest all the workers?
Trump curbs immigration enforcement at farms, meatpacking plants, hotels and restaurants
The Trump administration has directed immigration officers to pause arrests at farms, restaurants and hotels after President Donald Trump expressed alarm about the impact of aggressive enforcement.

The great irony is that Trump will succeed in stopping the flow of immigrants, but not the way he thinks. Most came to the US because it represented the land of freedom. By turning it into a fascist police state, they’ll simply stop coming.

Boisson v Pegula just got way interesting! On to Set 3 for the super low ranked wildcard and last French player remaining in the open. Her style of play is old school clay court tennis so it makes for very entertaining viewing. And just got up an early break! #wta #tennis

It's very reassuring to know somebody's testing for this stuff. But the problem really isn't with the models that have been released, it's with the bleeding edge ones being developed. Who's testing those? #AI #artificialintelligence #technology
OpenAI's 'smartest' AI model was explicitly told to shut down — and it refused
An artificial intelligence safety firm has found that OpenAI's o3 and o4-mini models sometimes refuse to shut down, and will sabotage computer scripts in order to keep working on tasks.
