I think it’s ok to like a thing as it is and even recognize that it may have overlap in appeal for your demographic without trying to recontexualize it as being exclusively or even primarily FOR your demographic ykwim

I think one of the things that’s held me up so much with fic is that the Big Projects™️ that I’ve worked on in the past have been all these long, expansive, detailed longfics, and it’s HARD to see those through. And since I didn’t feel confident, I never published any of them
