…Let me say that again: Expert coders using "generative AI" demonstrated a nearly 20% *increase* in their time, vs when writing code on their own; oh, and those increases are *worse* on the tasks with which they have more familiarity.

But that's not even the crucial part; this is the crucial part:…

By request, I've added an old t-shirt design from grad school to my etsy shop. Evolution friends might appreciate it!

We're all collectively crying over the Anglerfish and Howie right now, right? 😭 RIGHT?

They weren’t JUST any fish and any crab—they were resilience, light, and a reminder that even the smallest lives can touch millions.

Museum folks! We have gotten a donation of some amazing old taxidermy pieces and I am just fascinated by one item. It's a large cabinet in what looks like a Victorian style and has some old features (oil painting background, solid carved wood frame)...

I hadn't posted about this paper before, but over the summer I added unbending features (sensu TPSutil) for fish landmark data to my package LOST. Just sent an update to CRAN to make unbend.tps.poly work for 2D and 3D data, planning to update unbend.spine too

Friends on the new platform, you can find my collection of 3D fish and anatomy models on sketchfab here: sketchfab.com/MTSUichthyol.... May be migrating to "fab" eventually. If you use these for teaching or 3D printing please shoot me an email so I can make note of that for grants/service/etc.
