Democratic elected officials & pundits LOVE to tell voters to put "X, Y, Z" behind them and "move on." This means that they never, ever, ever address X, Y, Z. This is a significant reason the country is where it is. For ex, Obama came in saying "we're not looking back" and man was that wrong.

agreed. it's "the guy who makes you uncomfortable for reasons you won't articulate isn't the future. this guy who looks and talks like you is."
You have to understand what pieces like this from the NYT are and are not.
They are not an honest assessment of the state of politics today.
They are a negotiation tactic—an effort by a calcified, right-leaning legacy institution to steer the discourse in a direction more palatable to elites.

Why'd James Bond die at the end of that last movie when it's clearly titled "No Time To Die"?
Is he stupid?

Anthony the whole movie of Skyfall is built on that premise and it absolutely RIPS
Bond gets shot, tossed several hundred feet into a churning river, comes back months later with bits of metal STILL IN HIM and learns to shrug it off Dark-Knight-Returns-style.
You can do whatever you want.

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”
Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:
“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Allow me to introduce myself…
The story from my childhood that my parents love to tell people the most is my first ever movie theater experience. Picture a young toddler who is sitting in a (somewhat) packed movie theater with his mom, dad, and older sister munching down on popcorn and candy from his kid's combo meal deal and eagerly waiting for the latest Dr. Seuss animated adaptation, …

Insurance companies have zero incentive to lower their price just because you can go somewhere else. You can already do that and they still don't lower their price or negotiate coverage. This is unsurprisingly stupid lol
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Just my own two cents on Democrat politics. I think we should've seen the cave coming when, after the landslide election victories for Democratic candidates, the only people NOT celebrating were congressional Democrats. If they intended to keep fighting, they would've shown it on election night.

The ACA fucking *sucks*, is a national shame, is confoundingly cruel and ineffective and insufficient and, also, simultaneously is SO MUCH MORE PREFERABLE to pre-ACA American healthcare it's not even close.
The thing about ACA is that if an American describes how it works to someone from literally anywhere else, the other person will be utterly horrified at its deliberate cruelty.
The way the horror of pre-ACA healthcare sounds to an American, is basically how ACA sounds to everyone else on earth.

Real talk, friends: Schumer won't resign, and Dems will remain impotent federally through 2026. So what can we do?
Organize ever more people into the orgs waging primaries.
In NYC, the tip of the Left electoral spear is now NYC-DSA. But just about everywhere else in NY, Left primaries win via WFP.

Tonight, Senate Republicans — aided by eight Democrats — passed a funding bill that will raise healthcare premiums for millions of Americans and leave some families without health care at all.
Let's discuss.

Two things need to happen simultaneously:
1) A rapid mobilization and expansion of mutual aid networks to protect, feed, and care for each other
2) A tireless effort to elect progressive politicians looking to oust these fascists and their spineless enablers

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis
For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare
We will keep fighting
