I love worldbuilding, material culture, history, wuxia, intersectional criticism, fictional moms, and tea. I'm currently studying Classical Chinese and I post the occasional translation. Sometimes I write SFF criticism and fanfic too.

As we approach the end of the year, it's a great time to record things you love! Not just for the Hugo Awards, but in general. The rec sheet is a handy resource for nomination, but also at its heart a rec resource in a loud, busy media environment.

So I wrote two books. both are set in London, in winter, in 2021. One is an alternate future history, a sparse love story where a spad and civil servant work on Brexit together and fall unwillingly in love; the other is a sports anime, a post-pandemic f/f romance. here they both are:

I'm looking for recommendations for a focaccia recipe that

1. doesn't use the "stretch and fold" method (ie not the 3 Doughs one 😔)
2. doesn't use sourdough starter
3. bakes in a 9x13" pan

My go-to has been King Arthur's No-Fuss Focaccia/Blitz Bread but I feel like there are better ones out there?

Several Intergalactic Mixtape readers have mentioned this book in recs and in replies and were really excited about it! It seems delightfully weird.
Ooh! Happy THE WORKS OF VERMIN day to those who celebrate, which should be everybody. I got to read this as an ARC *ages* ago and I've been excited to push it one everyone -- it has bugs who love opera and weaponized perfume and just gooey wonderfulness.
