Just rediscovered Rent Remixed... How much did the producers pay the Larson estate for the rights to remix an iconic show on the West End barely a decade after it opened on Broadway - and it turn out so badly that it's not even on some of the stars' wiki pages (like Luke Evans - yes Shaw from F&F)?

I have often had questions about, much like I caapitalise Cast Member, why I capitalise Guest when discussing themed entertainment (and hospitality more widely). The answer is simple. The Guest is the centre of everything in this industry, and we ought not forget it. (1/?)

Sneak preview of next year’s MLS coverage on Apple TV once the league goes to five divisions, two seasons, and an updated playoff format.

I've always wondered if, deep in the Disney Archives, are the results of Eisner's many $300 million regional park competitions he would have his executives work on but never actually build for a variety of reasons. There definitely were proposals made, but they've never seen the light of day...

My haul from Celebration's semi-annual garage sale. $40 in all - $10 for the DLP pin and $30 for the rest. Not sure which pin I like the most, but the Light Magic pin is definitely a great add to my entertainment collection, while I have a soft spot for the DU pin from my training there.

Anyone who collects pins know if pre-production proof pins (like this one I seemingly traded for off a board at Epcot), are usually faked? I don't think it's a fake but I can't be sure.

We don't let restaurants self regulate health inspections, we don't let casinos self regulate AML, we don't let elevators or escalators be regulated by Macy's or Bloomingdale's... Why are very specific theme parks' attraction safety standards different?

I'm not sure filling out job applications and swiping on dating apps is how I wanted to spend part of my birthday, but i couldn't ignore them unfortunately...

Disneyland is not a more urbanist resort than WDW just because it has housing around it (WDW does too). You can argue better transport connections (slightly better bus options), but unlike DL, WDW eventually has rail service from the airport, downtown, plus elsewhere. Big difference, even if $$$.

I am way too much of a Disney nerd. Currently pricing out the difference in wedding prices from the various domestic and international resorts just for fun...

@themeparkinsider.com Your recent article fails to mention that the US is, via the VWP, more accessible visa-free for more countries than either the UAE or Saudi (who, beyond the GCC, have no countries they let in without a visa).
Here is one more reason why Disney chose Abu Dhabi
Here is a fresh take on why Disney chose to build its next theme park resort in Abu Dhabi. No, it's not just money. It's about the visa, too - and we are not talking about credit cards.

Does it make me more Canadian than I already am now that I applied for a job with the NHL?

I do remember someone once asked me if they could walk to Epcot from Pop Century and my fellow CMs looked at me very weirdly when I told the guest they couldn't and shouldn't... This was apparently a common question and the answer was they could and we shouldn't tell them no. Despite safety issues!

It is such a shame that the pachinko industry and other integrated interests have been stonewalling and preventing the expansion of proper commercialized gambling in Japan. Current plans are not anywhere near ambitious enough for the market Japan could support. Easily double the number of casinos...

Controversial opinion, but while John Stamos did not know all the words last night while filling in for Josh Gad playing King Herod at JCS at the Hollywood Bowl, at least he tried to sing. All Gad seems to know how to do for most of the song is yell, with the song seemingly being high for him.

Realizing I corrected Wil Wheaton on Reddit about something incredibly stupid and relatively minor (Mexican Coke distribution patterns in the US) without realizing it was him... Yeah that feels weird.

@wdwnt.com I don't know if Tom actually reads these, but I'm going to write it as if he does. I saw the grand opening performance of Starlight tonight and sat down to watch the Honest Review of it. I'm surprised how much I agree with Tom and Jason... That's not why I write however. (1/?)

Disney playing the introduction music to MSEP in Starlight but refusing to use the words (or really have a proper introduction except by narration) wasn't political but a symptom of how they failed to learn from the past and properly fund and support what could have been a massive success.

I cannot forgive DeSantis for taking money from the major Vegas casino companies and then advancing the Seminole monopoly on Floridian gaming to the detriment of literally everyone else in the state. There is no reason why Florida doesn't have a dozen commercial casinos except his lack of fight.
