I have a relatively pristine copy of this sitting on the shelf, and every time I look over at this cover it makes me smile. Jumping Flash rules so hard
We have been blessed with high resolution Robbit.

MY HUSBAND: What are you going to do while I'm gone this week? Watch one of those Claude Chabrol movies from that box set, or that Tarkovsky you got?

ME: Oh, yeah, probably...

ME, 24 HOURS LATER, WATCHING 'PHYSICAL: ASIA': You're up against Eddie in the bag toss? You poor bastard. You're fucked.

Hi yes hello I would like *more* directors to reference Jarman’s set design for The Devils, but more explicitly. Give me that theatrical modernism as juxtaposition to the understood gothic elements of the setting. Bonus points if its 70s retro modernism.
Five films that influenced Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein 👀

View the list here: boxd.it/PXayA Frankenstein is now streaming on Netflix.

YouTube has recently decided that it REALLY wants to show me some kind of SEO slop ads about gut health, so I’m now consistently getting placements shouting about poop in front of the chill ambient sets I’m trying to play

The future is so aggressively dumb

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I’ve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription “QUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now I’m haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.

Exorcist 3 absolutely rips. It's got its rough edges (Kinderman's dream, the pacing) but it's also got some great heights (the hallway sequence, the visuals, the carp!). I feel like I've been seeing people bite the visuals in this for years and years, even excluding Clock Tower.

The FMV games exhibit at the retro gaming con had the same MYST hat I was wearing on display in the exhibit. Gonna crumble into old old dust brb

Watched From Beyond for the first time - truly the single goopiest movie I've ever seen. So much slime, blood, ooze, and goop in every scene. The gelatin budget on this thing must've been *insane*. A little Hellraiser, a little Prince of Darkness, a whole lot Looney Tunes.

Finally arrived at that brief window where I can comfortably wear a nice wool jacket outside

Genuinely really enjoying Baby Steps and think it might somehow be one of my favorite games of 2025? It’s very abrasive in a lot of ways, but it’s also the most pleasantly game-like thing I’ve run into in a while. Nothing matters, so why not climb a tree to get a dumb hat?

Asked the local bookstore to hold a copy of the new Pynchon. None of the staff had heard of him before, and when I arrived to pick it up they cheerily offered me a promotional tote from the publisher as I was “the first person to express interest in the book”

Not looking good for our boy Tommy P

Love that Bats (1999) goes full fuck-it mode for the climax and decides to interpret the script's setting (bottom of a mine shaft, activating an ultra-high-powered refridgeration unit) through the lens of an outer space picture. You can't tell me this shit isn't made with remnants from Armageddon.

Rereading Vineland after seeing OBAA last weekend, and it’s really reminding me why I loved it so much in the first place. There’s a kind of immediacy and sense of place from the jump that I never really got from Pynchon’s other stuff, it’s like catnip

Chronologically, my picks have been:

- Suspiria (college, watched what I could find at 49c Video)
- Deep Red (grad school, thinking about how cool it'd be to live in rome esp if I get embroiled in a murder mystery)
- Opera (got a job, realized the one that's an extended kink scenario is the best)
what's your favorite Dario Argento movie? 🩸

It’s Bandcamp Friday, the most artist-supportingest day of the month! If, like me, you always intend on picking something up but don’t have a wishlist built out, here’s some stuff I’ve been enjoying this year…

I’ve been watching old episodes of Hometown and the way I NEED to have brick flooring. Unhealthy. Lustful.

It's labor day weekend eve, so remember to give your local union member a little kiss (if they consent and doing so wouldn't put either of you in a situation where you're violating OSHA)
