When you get a job rejection email from a damn CAR WASH, it's really hard to not think of myself as completely unemployable.

I'm still desperate for a job, so in the meantime if anyone can spare some money for me to get by, I'd appriciate you forever.

It has been a bit since I posted anything, so here's an info dump and various tidbits about the world. I've included alt text in case BlueSky makes the text unreadable.
Carpaccini (the wooper) has a glass eye, they don't like to talk about it. Their bell was a gift from Croagunk, and it's their prized possession. Mutton (the Indeedee) is genderfluid, and turns their horns. They believe they always look good no matter what they wear. Gardevoir can use Mega Stones, though she eats them for reasons. In this state, she is a lunatic that can barely control her heightened psychic powers. She'll eventually wear herself out and revert back to normal, with no memory of what happened. Muffin (the Lopunny) can also use Mega Stones, but she keeps her sanity while in that form. This might because she doesn't eat them like Garde does. Croagunk's Shop is in an abandoned lot, made out of junk and scrap that was laying around. It doesn't even have a roof, just a tarp held up by some posts. His wares are shoddily made stuff, or taken from the dumpsters. He has a no refund policy. Despite everything, it is actual store will a following for his weird trinkets and curios. The Gard-e-porium is in an actual building, with walls, floors, and working electricity and plumbing. The place sells quality goods, with food that is still in date. She also has a no refund policy. To compete with the toad, she's starting selling curios of her own, but they're not selling as well as Croagunk's. These two business rivals do have one common enemy, their land-lady, whom is a massive Gengar that makes a beanpole like Garde. Despite her massiveness, she is very good at appearing out of nowhere. Many just call her "Lady G", and she owns almost every building in the city, including the one Foreman Tinkaton is currently building. She does not care for the tenants do, other than making sure they pay on time. The only time she talks to them is to strong-arm them into paying or she'll raise the rent for reasons. Those that do not pay their rent are subjected to living nightmares they cannot wake up from, often lasting for weeks or months. The ending is always the same: the Pokemon leaves the city and never returns. Her actual first name is "Gumdrop", but calling her by that would not be great for one's life or soul. Finally, Mutton and Kisiela (the Espeon) look after the Espurr. They don't know who the child belongs to, so they took it upon themselves to raise the munchkin. The two are not a couple, more like friends sharing one apartment. Espurr calls them "daddy" and "mommy" anyway, as they give family titles to most of the people they see on a regular basis, such as calling Croagunk and his crew "uncle and aunts", and calling Gardevoir "grandma", much to her chagrin. Espurr has also seen Lady G a few times, referring to her as just "the monster", which is fairy accurate given her practices.
