Recently had an unpleasant recurrence of muscle tension #dysphonia. Is cheering me up to do my bubble tube exercises with this attractive bottle. (Don’t worry, had a bad few days but on the mend again.)

Particularly good episode of In Our Time #podcast on #mathematician Emmy Noether www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...
Even if Melvyn did seem a little bemused by the levels of #mathematics joy being expressed
BBC Radio 4 - In Our Time, Emmy Noether
Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss the ideas of one of the great 20th-century mathematicians.

Love seeing a big crowd for #Wimbledon #wheelchairTennis. Men's final on Court 1 and BBC. I've watched some of every tournament since it started! How often does one get to say that? Go Alfie! #disabilitySport #DisabledPride #disability

Watching TV and conveniently the actors are all different looking enough that I can tell them apart. But then the detective pulls up a photo and gasps in horror. There is ominous music. Oh no. #prosopagnosiaTV #faceBlindness 1/

In this witty and catchy music video, British artist Joshua Idehen takes us on a tour of the world’s ‘isms’ using the relatable analogy of domestic chores. From liberalism to communism, each concept is humorously unpacked, highlighting how societies often overlook the domestic labor of mothers
A catchy tune explains the world’s ‘isms’ – according to your mum doing the laundry | Aeon Videos
The world’s isms – capitalism, socialism, fascism and so on – explored through the analogy of your mum doing the washing

einstein sent this to curie in 1911 when she was being harassed by tabloids. it contains everything you’d want in such a letter:

(1) your haters are trash
(2) you’re a baller, a true queen
(3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

Every year, conveniently around #DisabilityHistoryMonth, I teach some sessions on #Disability, #SEN, #accessibility and #inclusion to postgrads. As prep I set a task of engaging with the creative and/or professional work of D/disabled people, and posting links on their course forum. #DHM2024 1/?

Have an irrational fear of people hearing me sing that I've been trying to cure. Today in tube tunnel was a busker with guitar playing My Heart Will Go On, conveniently transposed down a fourth for (my) comfort. So sang along as loudly as I could manage while walking past. Amused some tourists.

Unusual #crochet commission: make a comfortable eye patch for post-surgery recovery.
Took the hospital-provided eye shield and free-crocheted a removable cover over it, plus lugs for elastic.

What's up, you ask? Am at a Benedictine monastery. Went to a service to hear the plainchant. Sang along (which was encouraged, yes!) although I do not read this kind of dots very well.
