This thread is exactly how I feel about genAI. Completely turned off by it on all artistic, intellectual and moral levels. I have no interest in anything it can say or generate. It is anti-human.
AI's best use case will always be scams. It's scamtech, top to bottom. Everything about it is crooked. Its bedrock is theft and its legacy is the destruction of the environment, both physical and virtual.
Even most of its 'legitimate' uses are a form of lying.

Please don’t mistake my loathing of AI art for a hatred of shitty-looking things in general. I love stuff that looks shitty. The early films of John Waters? Astonishingly shitty looking. But a real pervert made it look that shitty with his bare hands. That means something in this house.

This is doing the rounds again and I really need to emphasise that Bsky had a very strong culture of supporting artists, and we should try to keep that!
There are MANY artists (myself included) heading to Bsky who have lost a lot of income and support due to Twitter turning into shit over the last couple of years. Follow and buy their stuff! Art makes your feed more magical, breaks up the doom, and makes your life better. Help us keep it around x
