There needs to be a cross party discussion on how we can maintain EU alignment and future proof these protections while not opening them up to being watered down completely.

Stripping away our nature protections will open the door to the rich and the powerful who are trying to exploit our land and seas.

Our nature protections work, it's important they are safeguarded for future generations.

Our natural world is our shared wealth, but Scotland is one of the most nature-depleted countries on earth, and it is our duty to change that. This act is an opportunity for us to secure greater protections for nature, not less.

For YEARS Greens have been saying we need a just transition for ppl in the fossil fuel industry because it will inevitably wind down.

We were told we didn’t care about those workers by right wing parties who didn’t want to think about the future.

Now they’re suffering for that short sightedness.
The headwinds for Mossmorran were clear. That's why in 2022 we commissioned a report looking in depth at future options, followed by summits with trade unions. Governments needed to act much earlier.

Now we need to see real investment in the future of the site and the workforce.

Where I grew up in Yorkshire we had one bus each hour in either direction, from 6 am until 10 pm, and didn't think we were living in luxury. Now there are three buses one way + one bus the other in a week! Buses are incredibly important for communities and people deserve better (also in Scotland).
Buses connect us to the people we love, the things we need and the places that matter.

Please make a donation today to help us improve bus services for people like David and ensure that every community has a bus service it can rely on. bettertransport.org.uk/help-improve...

They sneaked it out on a day when there was other news, undoubtedly in the hope that the U-turn would not be noticed.

SUVs - the UK’s heaviest, most polluting vehicles - remain untouched by tax reform. A Large Vehicle Levy could raise nearly £2bn a year to reinvest in public transport and address the damage these vehicles cause.
