After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel
Trump’s most brazen attack on free speech yet.

Me two weeks ago: Jeffrey Epstein killed himself, not to protect anyone, but because entering prison as the world's most illustrious pedophile makes that a logical decision. Conspiracy theories make less sense than the stated story.

Me now: The Pee Tape was shot on Epstein Island.
Q: “Did Bondi tell you your name appeared in the Epstein Files?”

TRUMP: “The files were made up by Comey, Obama, Biden…” 🤔

Nothing to see here, folks!

Palmer Luckey's big idea that launched him to prominence has so far generated about negative 60 billion dollars of value for the company that purchased it. It's remarkable that he's seen as a exemplary founder and business genius instead of the architect of a business disaster case study.

We need to reckon with the reality that the tech industry no longer creates things that anyone wants.
The next time someone tells you some dumb-ass tech thing is "inevitable" even if a company has spent tens of billions of dollars on it

I think what’s most striking about the last few months is how rarely anyone in the GOP applies this simple test. A lot of checks and balances rely on this kind of worrying about precedent but it’s now totally absent, as if they don’t think they’ll ever be out of power again.
Listen to this National Review writer. (Although I would prefer it if people supported the First Amendment on principle, not just out of self-interest.)

I'm hardly an International Businessman™, but even my work has shown me that there are particular steps taken when negotiating with Chinese government officials and business leaders, and endlessly insulting them in public isn't helpful to the process.

These clowns live in the tiniest bubbles.
This is the problem with electing an administration of too-online edgelords instead of people who actually want to govern. You can’t just “sh—post” your way to a deal with China

One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind.

An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one."

The other said, "Take him anyway."

So they did.

weird, what could explain this
Adolf Hitler's “Mein Kampf” is still on U.S. Naval Academy shelves. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “Memorializing the Holocaust” are not.

An order by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office led to a purge of books that are critical of racism — but preserved volumes defending white power.
