We are meant to believe the NACC is still trying to establish if somebody should be held to account on #Robodebt.
They are now preparing for their Xmas time-off while victims and their families have to see off yet another year without justice. I’ll be thinking of them this Xmas.
It’s almost 2yrs since the day Commissioner Catherine Holmes handed down her final report on Robodebt & referred those responsible for criminal prosecution. It was a day we felt like finally something was happening.
I’m so sorry to all victims who are STILL waiting for justice.

Sign up for the Weekly Beast media newsletter here The former ABC broadcaster Kerry O’Brien got a standing ovation at the 70th Walkley awards on Thursday night for a rousing speech that reminded media in the ICC Sydney ballroom of the “clear and present danger for a strong, free, effective and independent media everywhere”. The winner of six Walkley awards, including the Gold, called on the industry to unite to strengthen press freedom. He began by paying tribute to Palestinian journalists who have “confronted the world with powerful evidence that has gradually taken on the look and feel of genocide in real time” and decried the “outrageous casualty list of Palestinian journalists and other media workers in Israel’s war on Gaza since the brutal attack by Hamas on Israeli citizens two years ago”. What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Trump invests in corporations that he's supposed to be regulating.

Trump cuts deals with autocrats to advance his family's real estate business.

The list goes on.

In the 1970s our defence spending was ~2.4% of GDP. It’s 2.4% of GDP again now.

Funny how we can find the money for things that go bang, but not for things that save lives.
