Domestic Abuse Officers in #Familysafeguarding provide 1-2-1 support & deliver the Better me, Better Us & Parenting in Action group programmes for those who are or may be perpetrators of domestic abuse and help them with change strategies to cope with stress, anger and controlling behaviour.

Children's/Family Practitioners in the Family Safeguarding teams work collaboratively with the Social Worker to work directly with children, parents and/or carers to help them achieve change within their families guided by the Family Programme.

Social Workers in Family Safeguarding teams use Motivational Interviewing skills to work with families to support change. Their direct work is guided by the Family Programme which helps assess the support and help the family need and evaluate whether things are improving.

Team Managers in Family Safeguarding are responsible for managing the team and hold overall decision making for the children and families they support. They chair Family Safeguarding supervision and are responsible for allocating work to the multi-disciplinary teams.

Multi-disciplinary teams is 1 of the 5 core components of Family Safeguarding. Specialist workers and social workers work together using Motivational Interviewing skills to support parents with their issues including mental health, domestic abuse and substance use.
