If the goal was to drive away users, then Microsoft is nailing it. I wonder which reality they receive their feedback from because it's not this one.

Can we all agree DHH is an overhyped bigot?

Government and law enforcement have demonstrated that they are willing to use every tool available to spy on protesters, people seeking abortions, immigrants, and many others. That’s why we need to fight surveillance where it matters most: our local communities. takebackctrl.org/stop-survei...

Alongside armored vehicles, local police are getting surveillance technology with help from the federal government. Learn what tech law enforcement have in your area with EFF's Atlas of Surveillance, where we’ve documented thousands of examples: atlasofsurveillance.org/

Let's just take a moment to silently acknowledge that NixOS is the superior OS. OK, move along now.

Is the robot going to stare at me like that as I take my last breath?
🤖👩‍⚕️ Most people are cautiously open to using robots in home care, according to a new international study. Caregiving robots are expected to play an important role in the future of care services as many countries experience declining birth rates and ageing populations.

Only centrists and right-wingers would argue the "merits" or "nuance" of an article questioning women's value in the workplace. Hate is a casual, guilty pleasure for some.

Don't expect any motion from established democrats. They are centrists, nearly indistinguishable from the right. I see people here thinking Jeffries or Schumer may actually capitalize on the wave. They won't. Can't. It will crest and wash over them until we see them voted out.

Reminder that you people proudly claiming to be centrist are useful idiots. You may be dumber than conservatives, who at least stand for something. Pull out the fence post and support real change.

Too bad I still won't be getting a switch 2. Suck it, Nintendo.

$40b to Argentina and a plan to source meat from Argentina for the U.S. in an effort to bail out a shitty bet made by a conniving and corrupt economist after programs that help Americans are cut off from from their funds and internally dismantled - In case you forgot.

I'm not sure what kind of keyword hellhole I've found myself in, but please take me off of the self-righteous told-you-so neo-liberal algorithm. If only I could block phrases rather than hashtags and categories.

Is the government working for the villagers of Kipnuk? Their decision is the result of how your corrupted senators vote. Unfortunate.
The EPA under President Donald Trump defended its decision earlier this year to rescind a $20 million grant meant to prevent coastal erosion in the Western Alaska village of Kipnuk.
EPA defends canceling coastal erosion grant to hard-hit Kipnuk
A Trump administration official said the cancellation of a $20 million grant to Kipnuk saved taxpayer dollars from being “swept into the Kuskokwim River.”

I'm liking the platforms candidates are running on
People think politics is corrupt… all of it. And to fix it, we need to rebuild trust.

That’s why I’m running on:

- Banning stock trading by members of Congress
- Overturning Citizens United
- And not taking a dime of corporate PAC $$

Glad to see DHH getting some long overdue criticism for his shitty political opinion pieces. And for the record, his dime-a-dozen rice "omarchy" is very overrated, but I attribute that to impressionable devs celebrating his ego.

Also, anyone pushing for AI to have "rights" is either a tech-illiterate clown or is hiding a nefarious agenda. Corporations once didn't have rights, and they are not living, breathing, or thinking either. Now they have all the power. Think about what that means.

I have yet to see a post along the lines of "I'm a privileged x and too scared to do something, looking for advice." So while pleading with cowards is a choice, the real battle is American selfishness and apathy. It may he cynical, but framing issues around their selfishness is more effective.
