Like, “walk of fame”, insofar as that’s still a thing, traditionally denotes a selection of people who were *famous* in a particular way.

But presidents are elected officials, and a thing any schoolchild can look up in their government book? Heck, some elementary schools have them on the wall.

The sheer number of people Trump pardoned — 1,500+ — and the magnitude of violence many (most?) of them committed means it is statistically likely that a fair number will be revidivists, potentially for more egregious crimes. The pardons should be a top story EVERY DAY

The key in this headline is "Saddleback," an IYKYK thing. Huge Evangelical megachurch in California whose ministry is considered a model for many nationwide. It's a BRAND, and it happened to someone in a camp they'd call brothers and sisters.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that this story would be the first time some readers learn about deportations of people they'd consider to not be ICE targets. And once you chip away at a mental shortcut that predefines how people see the issue, you create pathways to open floodgates.
