Our economy is far larger than it was decades ago.

Where have most of the gains gone? To the top.

Any path forward must include a fight to restructure the economy toward more widely shared prosperity.

This isn’t a blue state vs. red state phenomenon. It’s a class phenomenon.

Once you start working with probabilistic models the desire to convert all your favorite deterministic ones is an obsession. Xgboost gets a prior, MLP gets priors, you ALL GET PRIORS.

Bayesian Deep Learning is Needed in the Age of Large-Scale AI [Paper Reflection]
In particular, we point out that there are many other metrics beyond accuracy, such as uncertainty calibration, which we have to take into account to ensure that better models also translate to better...

Ever feel like attractive people are jerks? It’s a causal illusion—you rarely date someone who’s both unattractive and awful. When an attractive person sucks, you still date them, skewing perception. In reality, everyone just sucks to a random degree. This is called Berkson’s Paradox #Bayesian

One thing I’ve realized is that you can have the most perfect dataset, that is sufficiently large with normally distributed variables, but if you don’t know how the data was generated you’re in for a struggle. Knowledge about how the data was obtained is equally important as the data itself.
