Now, this makes me think Fanduel had info that the Crosstown LRT would not open before November.

Not only has our Premier decreed that streets are for cars only, he has also decreed that they be flooded during heavy rains.
"Last week, Ontario Housing Minister Rob Flack’s office denied any knowledge of the measure being passed via decree. After the Star obtained a copy of the order, Flack’s office said the city can still have a green roof policy, but it could no longer be mandatory."

Doug Ford quietly kills Toronto’s green roof bylaw
Since the bylaw came into force in 2009, more than 1,200 green roofs have been installed across the city.

Funny that, in Italy's public service, it seems words are chosen first to shield the writer (and their management) from liabilty. Clarity and readbility come way after that, if ever.
And in the public service - which works for you, and which your tax dollars fund - it really matters that we use the clear, helpful and factual words that you deserve.

And in every case I’ve seen that starts with AI, it would take more human work and oversight to achieve that goal, not less.

Hot day in Rome, and I was feeling thirsty in my way home. Stepped into a cafe for a lemonade, it was 3 Euro for a 0.33 l bottle, while beer was 2.50 for 0.66. Less than half a litre wouldn't quench my thirst. I had to buy the beer.

A key aspect.
Who is bearing all of these costs?
It seems many have just accepted that, yes, these the are people whose lives should pay the price for my parking convenience.
#RapidTO
One aspect of this we never hear about is the economic cost of having 10s of 1000s of people stuck on slow and unpredictable transit. (never mind the social & personal costs, we only care about business)
20,000 daily transit customers v 138 parking spaces. As the province continues to misrepresent bike lane usage, the #RapidTO "controversy" should make clear that there is likely no amount of cycling ridership that would appease proponents of Bill 212.

Don't cut a comma.

Guy knows.
I want to give credit to my editors, who asked me to write 2,000 words on why Andrew Tate wears such tight pants. I submitted 3,700. They asked if I really needed to start with a story about the industrial revolution and I said "yes, absolutely don't cut."

The Toronto Spring weather roller-coaster gets tiring.
Still in a similar situation (minus the snow on the ground).
Time difference between these photos: exactly 24 hours
Temperature difference: 19 C (-2 to 17) or 34 F (28 to 62)
Typical spring in Toronto!

This article should be mandatory reading for council, transit agencies and engineering firms management in Toronto.

Ideally, all the Metrolinx VPs should have a reading of it while riding in 2 GO buses out of the new Bay St Terminal, in rush hour. For the ultimate group field trip experience.
"Down with the BRT, long live the bus."

I've just published an unusually polemical, argumentative post on my Substack explaining why I think Bus Rapid Transit is a failed planning concept.
