An added bonus of blocking all these accounts is they won’t be able to see your content and will be less able* to steal it.
Back on Twitter you had to manually block each one. This list lets you block them all with two taps! Hit Subscribe > Block accounts.

Bingo!

*hopefully not at all
Content scrapers post images without permission or credit to the original creators. They rack up followers and then sometimes sell the accounts, making money off other people's work. Please consider blocking them and if you want to avoid all of them you can use this block list. Thank you!

Conference prep for pros:

Step 1: Take week off work to prep for conference.

Step 2: Procrastinate all week and end up panic prepping the day before anyway.

Step 3: Wing it on the day.

Not me procrastinating on finalising my talk for #ISBE2024 next week…

Gotta get back into conference-mode and cockatoo-mode.

Anyone else going???

Cockatoo photo for attention (though we always need more cockatoo photos!)

Hey #Herbarium and #Museum peeps!
Any resources or pro tips for digitising collections?
We have a little regional herbarium in our office that I’d love to digitise so it’s available to more people and also just in case something terrible happens to it. Are there standards I should follow? #OzPlants

Halp!
What does one put down as one’s affiliation and address for a conference when one is not at a uni anymore.
But when one is presenting work they did as a PhD student at a uni before said uni kicked them out for refusing to be bullied any more?
Asking for a friend…

Going to ask here as well… how does one go about getting adjunct status at a uni? And how much of your soul do they take in return?

My first post here. Hi everyone! This place looks nice.

Also, for Aussies, do something positive and constructive for society, it’ll make you and others feel great (that’s a scientific fact), and it’ll change lives for the better.

Given we can’t share videos on this app, here’s an IG video from last season that I made while orchid-peering™️ for the Kangaloon Sun Orchid (Thelymitra kangaloonica). It’s on the offish work IG, but my handle there is the same as here. 🌍🧪

Rather borbular, wouldn’t you say? 🥔🦉

Once we get Polls here I’ll be able to do #BorbOfTheYear.

Though I’m still a bit confused about whether we use hashtags here or not… there’s a finite number of emojis after all.
Potato on toothpicks is my favorite shape of burrowing owl. 🦉

I guess with the mass exodus I should start posting more over here. I’ll do a proper intro eventually but for now, here’s yesterday’s office: looking for Sun Orchid (Thelymitra) leaves in a swamp in the Southern Highlands of NSW. It’s super dry so not much happening yet. Nice day out though! 🌍🧪

Not me rewriting the lyrics of Single Ladies to be about swamp orchids in preparation for swamp orchid season 😜

It’s this one btw: Thelymitra kangaloonica. Ain’t she pretty? 🌍🧪
