It's sad that a place said to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth, is being inundated by plastic & harming wildlife ... and not due to the islands inhabitants.

I’ve seen a lot of reports about empty store shelves ahead of #CycloneAlfred, especially concerns about bottled water shortages. As someone who grew up in FNQ and experienced cyclones every year, I want to let you know— buying bottled water isn’t necessary.

You don’t need 2 grow your own food to cut back on plastic. Support local farmers, buy in bulk & preserve what you can! Buying in bulk means way less waste overall. Food's always cheaper when it’s in abundance!

Q: If U could ban 1 single-use plastic item worldwide, what would it be?

I'd start w/ the little taster scoops for ice-cream or food samples. The production process, travel miles etc. for something to be used for seconds is wasteful & unnecessary.
