In disbelief - CBC News: Sinclair Broadcast Group..owns about 40 ABC affiliates..said.. stations will air Kirk tribute in the Kimmel time slot Friday... called on Kimmel to make a "meaningful donation" to Kirk's Turning Point USA... it wouldn't commit to airing Kimmel's show again should it return.

It took me a while to get through #Embassytown by #ChinaMiéville. But it's worth it. Very creative language, culture and world developed for an alien species, all seamlessly embedded within a layered story. You know it's good when #UrsulaLeGuin calls it "a masterpiece."

Just finished Adrian Tchaikovsky's @aptshadow.bsky.social Final Architecture series and was thrilled with how he explored the centre of a system, in this case our universe. Like the middle of a system, his 'unspace' is a place of no time-no space, yet his are inhabited with unseen monsters...
