Billy didn’t just do songs but also the social history behind them. It defies belief that the Manchester Guardian, the newspaper formed & forged in the labour movement, would have convened a meeting to eviscerate its organisation during a strike supported by 93% of its journalists

Adding stock-image children to a bike lane design should be a necessary planning step.
Now if you really want to highlight the absurdity of this design, photoshop a couple of three year olds into it.

Disappointing to see @theguardian.com not following guidance on language for road traffic collisions (they used "accident" twice). Hope this guy is OK www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Unsurprisingly to folk who follow pedestrianisation:

A review of the data has shown that pedestrianisation of Shrewsbury Town Centre has increased footfall, increased the value of purchases made, and increased the profitability of businesses in pedestrian areas.

Appalling. Remote controlled drones being used to hover over, look at, and then cynically shoot children ranks amongst the sickest cowardice ever.

Best not highlight who is doing it though, hey BBC?

Please can we have direct vision standards for HGVs across the rest of the UK too? It’s amazing how much safer cycling in London feels now than cycling anywhere else - especially as it used to be So Much Worse!!
(20mph limits & better infra help a Lot too)
👊 62% reduction in fatal collisions involving HGVs in London since the standards we demanded were first introduced

👊 yes we spent 10+ years campaigning for this

👊 no we're not going to stop talking about it

Can only imagine the stats are similar for UK. Hundreds of thousands of people affected annually.
On average, 113 people are affected when a person dies in road traffic, according to a study commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Transport:
42 emergency services on the road,
56 friends and acquaintances,
four closest friends,
eleven relatives.

This means countrywide traumatization.
