I won’t share RFK Jr.’s lies about autism.

It’s disgusting and dangerous.

If he had a shred of decency, he would apologize and resign.

Autistic people contribute every day to our nation’s greatness.

To every kid with autism, I’m in this fight all the way for you.

Be a Mister Rogers. Wear comfy shoes. Celebrate kindness. Sow affirmations. Save time for make-believe. Sing silly little songs. Testify before a senate subcommittee about the importance of quality public broadcasting. Feed fish. Love sweaters.

Film 11 of #52FilmsByWomen was Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020) directed by Eliza Hittman: a quiet, close look at a teen who has to travel across state lines to receive an abortion.

A struggling artist finds success by pretending her toddler painted her large, abstract canvases, and complications ensue.

It’s the artist/mother plot of Nightbitch but make it vegan!

Film #10 was the excellent Monsoon Wedding by Mira Nair. A big ensemble cast, secrets, and humor - really enjoyed this one and am excited to see Nair’s other work

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 940000:
The senses are a way of connecting with your readership. Use them all. Don't forget scent, touch and taste as well as just sight and sound. Describing something ordinary via an unexpected sense can suddenly make it fresher and more interesting.

My 9th film directed by a woman in 2025 was Take This Waltz (2011) directed by Sarah Polley. I absolutely loved this gorgeous, intimate film ❤️❤️

In case you want some sweet news today.

I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.

For the entire school.

Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.
