Hello Australia, I got a real juicy piece here for ya. Carbon offsets were created by capitalism, to protect polluted profits.

What the hell does capital do when it loses its best ever greenwashing method? I got THEORIES ->>

The #grok hallucinations and my own work using #AI to code for me has #AI into focus for me. There is no intelligence in AI, at least not in #LLM AI. AI is merely access to a level of #supercomputer that seemed unimaginable a few short years ago which a highly accessible programming language.

And I also got to break the news that #nsw is taking steps to legalize e-scooters and that their research is showing a bigger mode shift from cars than other parts of the world

NSW to allow electric scooters, with limits, to help displace car trips
NSW government to allow e-scooters, with speed and road limits, arguing that they will displace car trips and connect to public transport.

Today in @thedriven.io I’m busting a myth that Australians drive a lot and another one that there aren’t enough public #EV chargers to make owning an EV practical.

Australians don't drive much, so why all the fuss about public EV chargers?
Busting the myth that the lack public charging is an impediment to most people owning and driving an EV is an urgent priority for our industry.

Another great @realmsunknown.bsky.social from @thebugle.bsky.social with @alicefraser.bsky.social and @andrewhunterm.bsky.social

I wanted to recommend another cross over Godzilla Movie - Shin Godzilla 2016. Which is like an episode of the thick of it in places.

I’ve written for @thedriven.io on Road User Charging, challenging the coalition to tell us if the genuinely want an equitable way of funding our roads or just a stick to beat the mythical latte sipping inner city voter with.

Would Peter Dutton cut my taxes to take into account the roads I don’t use?
The Liberal party is right, or at least Bridget McKenzie is, and possibly Peter Dutton agrees with her; EV drivers should pay their fair share to use the

Today we called for the Australian Energy Market Operator to shift the focus of energy planning to drive electrification and rooftop solar as these will help reduce the cost of energy, while the build-out of large-scale renewables suffers from delays.

Hey Australia does anyone know of a right wing or anti environmental action group using the initials FTP?

Nope, not a single one. The economics are terrible even in the imaginary future at the end of the j-curve.
Is… any of these SMR projects anywhere close to a plausible timeline to actually get a working reactor online?

What’s that? A nuclear plant neither been on time nor on budget and in fact so far from being able to produce energy at an economical price it gets cancelled.

Another musing on car-centricity and Australia - the size of prams and pushchairs - to big to be easily used on transit they demand a massive SUV to move them around.

Truly everything expands to fill the available space. #urbanism

I’m taking the baby to the Murdoch children’s to participate in a study on the effects of pertussis vaccine type on allergy development.

Unsurprised that the MCRI directions are for cars only, nothing for transit users or pedestrians. Disappointing but car centric is the norm in Naarm
