If you use a VTT. Domille's work is incredible and a true deal. Several battle maps that go through phases and is already set-up with walls and lighting for my Foundry set-up.

Cannot recommend her work enough.

On the schedule to run within the next few months. Each one has so many things to recommend them. Love the entire vibe of Songs of the Dusk, the theatricality and novelty of Under Hollow Hills, and I love Star Trek so I'm naturally inclined towards the game.

THIS! Oh she put it into far better words than I could have.
Students should study the humanities not because it makes them better workers but because it rips you open and breaks your brain and changes everything you thought you knew. I *promise* you this. I *promise* it has this ability, no matter how smart you think you are. I have seen it countless times.
Hearing the president of KU say that the way the humanities can protect itself - a question asked by a humanities professor of Spanish - is that her field should direct its public voice to how the Spanish language can impact AI versus the third study of an obscure play…. Just sigh.

I honestly believe this with my entire being: studying comedy and the concept of set-up and punchline has helped me enormously in running effective dramatic moments in #TTRPGs.

#ttrpg Scene setting. GMs, when setting scenes you need to decide if you’re going create the tension or give space to the PCs to create tension. If you’re creating the tension then make it obvious when setting the scene. If you’re not then give the PCs enough description so they can take action.

This image is so evocative to me. One day, sooner than later hopefully, I'd like to run a game where the players are teddy bears fighting the nightmares of their charges and the odd, slimy things that go bump in the night

A new resource I've found that I've been loving is Spectacular Settlements by @nordgames.bsky.social. It helps you generate distinct villages, towns, or trading posts that have their own histories and secrets. Secret histories that spur ideas to help the world feel more alive.

Mandarangkal, Islands of Sina Una for 5e.

Presenting as a beautiful stranger, after luring their prey they reveal their true forms, from sharp serrated arms to mandibles they are the dark path of nature, a dark desire to consume and survive.

One of my players contacted me privately and expressed something she didn't want to have in the game (She did not want to explore a form of tragedy).

She knew she had that level of authority because it'd been included in the 2024 DM's Guide.

Safety protocols in TTRPG books is always a win.
