🚨 Reposting to avoid any confusion between EPSS & EPSA 🚨

If you want to support non-for-profit, member-led political science association, EPSS is the place to be!

More here 👇🏽
EPSA have announced that they will hold a conference in July 2026.

😵‍💫 We understand that there might be some confusion about EPSS and EPSA.

👉🏽 So we thought we would clarify some things.

We searched for a piece like this as scholars of extremism in CEE that might help students (but also other readers) understand the current "illiberal moment"—its variations and adjacent concepts. 1/5

🚨🚨 Accepted yesterday! 🚨🚨

@lenkabustikova.bsky.social and I introduce the concept of "Confessional Illiberalism" and distinguish it from two other forms of illiberalism, reactionary and prejudicial illiberalism.

We also compare the concept to other '-isms' to tidy the backsliding literature.

🚨 Just in time for the upcoming CDU/CSU–SPD negotiations, @iguinaudeau.bsky.social and I have completed our new working paper on coalition politics! In this 🧵, @iguinaudeau.bsky.social connects these recent events to some of our key findings. 👇
🧵 Germany is heading toward a new ⚫️🔴GroKo, and Merz and SPD are pushing through a constitutional reform that will allow €1.000 billion in new debt. What happened to the CDU’s promise of budgetary rigor?
Our WP with @elisadeisshelbig.bsky.social sheds light on this. Let’s talk coalition politics.👇

Sure you don't want to work with us? We're clearly not an Ivy League institution, but we can offer a great work environment in a beautiful region. Lake and the Alps are included for free. In case it matters, egg prices are stable at around 30 cents apiece. stellen.uni-konstanz.de/jobposting/8...
