Any accountant caught doing this would be flouting accounting rules principles and ethics and if they repeated this dishonest practice would be sanctioned by auditors and disciplined and struck off by the profession. In America you would be sued for gross misrepresentation and malpractice
And now we have the answer: the Auditor-General agrees. Redundancies and holiday back pay was counted in the year before they were incurred. Former CFO Rosalie Hughes is vindicated, and Lester Levy is left looking quite untrustworthy.
