Hi! I’m El, a PhD student at ZSL and UCL working on understanding behaviour to inform conservation in an endangered amphibian species. I am question-driven, and my primary interests lie in sexual selection, mate choice, courtship behaviour, colour, and parental care. Let’s talk science! 🐸🦔🐦‍⬛🦗
It is validating to see these issues being discussed more widely. As someone hailing from such a background and engaging with #EDI at @zslscience.bsky.social, who are leading in this dialogue, it is often at the forefront of my mind.

I think The Two Ronnies sketch rather subverts the point, though.

Last month I presented my work on amphibian antipredator behaviour at #Behaviour2025 in Kolkata, India. I met so many cool people and potential future collaborators! Thanks to the organisers for the opportunity to present and to @asab.org and @britishecologicalsociety.org for funding my attendance!

A very successful Adder Day 2025! The weather was almost too nice this year, the scaly fellas didn't hang around for long.
