Researching the National Guard of the #Batavian Republic is a lot of fun. This is a relatively unknown painting of a unknown officer around #1799 in his workroom. From an auction, kindly provided by the auctioneer.

Lot s of nice details like the silver (?) buttons and sash.

Today in the mail: a crisp copy of the #dba #wargames rules and a book in the archeology of daily life
A new dba rules book, from Lulu prints in France so no import tax paid. The rules are written by Phil Barker and his wife and read like a computer program, are terrible edited, and make you wonder of those English classes in school really learned you something. On the other hand the rules are pretty solid, and give you army lists as well. The book on the right is a 2025 dutch language book on daily life archeology from the prehistory to the middle ages. So .. pots and pans and stuff like that. Nice pictures as well.

Lekkende stortbakken opgelost met nieuwe stortbak, en lekkend kraantje opgelost met ringetjes van een paar euro. Klussen is kloten.
Rode ringen, niet rubber maar een soort plastic om kraan op stortbak te zetten en af te dichten. De vorige waren versleten en bijna niet vindbaar. Drie dagen gekost om het op te lossen. Volg mij voor meer oninteressant klusnieuws.

25mm biblicals by Foundry, Ral Partha and Magister Militum. In the back some more 11th century knights to terrorise the countryside of the Lower Rhine/ Frisia area. These are Newline Design minis. Dba rules maximize your army to 12 bases so you can collect a lot of armies. Maybe I add some Hittites as well..Also I must make terrain pieces for the Ancient near East..

The #Overloon Museum used to have a IS-2 tank outside, but now it’s a #T-35/85. It looks like the one that was inside at first and was whitewashed then.

Great museum with a D-Day immersion thingie, and lots of allied and german equipment. And a Tiger!
