If you don't care whether you harm what you're working on, it matters. Imagine the country as a rocket about to explode, only we're all aboard that rocket.
One thing you really see every day is the different risk appetites between MAGA-era Republicans and Democrats. Basically compulsive, reckless, dangerous constant risk-seeking, versus almost comical levels of risk-aversion.
