Big finish for the old skool season of #drwho on #bbcthrre this evening.
With River Song ( #AlexKingston ) pretending to be #cleopatra in the first part of the Pandorica two episode season finale.

This #InternationalMensDay let's break the silence around men's mental health & wellbeing. Too many struggle alone - huge stigma remains about asking for help. It's a sign of strength to ask for support. Let's check on the men in our lives & ensure everyone feels safe to share when they're not ok.

For some reason this building in #bristol gives me weird vibes.
Like the building in #ghostbusters

As someone who has been tracking the development of #robot tech for 15+ years, I think it is a great idea for robots to be involved in social care.
Just feels like the story saying it is coming rolls round every year or two with no real sign it might actually happen:

Would you really trust a robot to care for you in old age?
It sounds like something from a sci-fi film - but some scientists believe this clever new tech could help alleviate strains on the UK care system

My daughter carved this pattern in our pumpkin this year.
The brief given was to make a design that would scare me.
She is 13

Pretty sure they are going to sell out of #neo real quick.
Have seen too much media about ai and robots going wrong to not want to wait for a later generation when any potential bugs have been ironed out.
Am also very much thinking of #asimov and his #robots series of stories.

Yeah, this:
I'm sorry I didn't answer my phone when you called. I don't use it for that

Hmmmm....
Seen too many movies to not raise an eyebrow and wonder what this means for the future of humanity...

Latest read is this early #GeorgeRRMartin novel.
Had some really good sections and worked overall as a narrative.

When I started in regional newspapers at the turn of the century, they still seemed like a money making machine and a job for life.
Now I mostly interact with my local rag by seeing its content on FB (which I don't use much either tbh).
A stat we don't talk about enough: Newspapers have lost 77% of their jobs over the last 20 year, more than any of the 532 other industries tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

#bbcthree is repeating 'classic' #doctorwho from the Matt Smith / Karen Gillian era on Saturday nights (started this evening).
The Eleventh Hour really holds up as an amazing introduction to Matt's Doctor.
Following David Tennant was always going to be a big ask - and Matt smashed it!

Watched #TheGuest
I always thought Eve Myles was a good actor. But her performance in that show stands her out as a great actor.
Breathlessly amazing from start to finish.
Highly recommend.

Awesome episode of #drwho today, season 15 episode 5.
A thrilling story about storytelling. Fabulous ensemble cast and a surprise appearance from an old face...

Latest read: alternative history where the other side won the war in Europe.
Well-written thriller.

"nuke it from orbit" is the favoured solution in episode 3 of #drwho season 15, out today.
Which is a sequel where troops visit the scene of an earlier catastrophe and find a lone survivor with wavy blonde hair...
