If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Which...I'm assuming this means Link can't get on blacksky, thus proving this is a centralized network where in fact it does matter how the main PDS is operating?

(Please let me know if I'm wrong on that btw! I'm just wondering if this is one of those "you proved yourself wrong" situations)

Social proof isn't merely real, it's one of the most persuasive tools that exists to shape "common sense" & with it action. People do (& say) the things people like them do (& say).
Essential reading:
"Common decency stigmatizes people that do not participate in it—removes them from voluntary association. We indeed have to live with one another, but terms and conditions apply."

Giorgia Meloni, Italy's PM, is a far right fascist who supports Israel, but the general strike Italians carried out 2 days ago scared the shit out of her. Strikes are the most effective way to get politicians to do what you want them to do. Shut down profit and they stand to attention.

Again, this is a broad coalition of people across the ideological spectrum whose top concern is making sure everyone rues and laments the “Woke Times” forever. It’s very much akin to the myths around “Negro misrule” in Reconstruction, which justified Jim Crow.
I will not link to it. I just want to reiterate that thousands of books have been banned by the right. And American Dirt sold millions of copies.

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

Working people across the nation are pissed off about this rigged economy, and they’re showing up. Wichita’s Congressman refuses to host a Townhall, so we pulled up instead.

Instead of stealing Greenland from Denmark, let’s steal some of their policies.

In Denmark:

- Health care and college are free.

- The starting wage is $22/hr.

- Paid parental leave is 1 year.

- Paid vacation is 6 weeks.

- All workers get pensions.

By the way, people should understand that the admin doesn't have to shoot or gas people to kill them. If you pile people in military-run camps in Gitmo and the Panamanian jungle without adequate food or healthcare and just wait, people will die
I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

You have a responsibility to name this person. Like, for a @nytimes.com reporter to be that incompetent is a danger to the nation, considering how important the Times still is. It's like a surgeon who doesn't know you need to wash hands between taking a poop and doing surgery.

I’d almost say they’re half right, thanks to John Wilkes Booth.

The Union/US didn’t want Jim Crow, but Booth’s bullet effectively ended the Union plan for Reconstruction so abruptly & so early, that it was entirely usurped by Confederate policy makers.

The CSA (insurgency) “did” Jim Crow.
