I’m really trying to find ways of using AI that make my work sharper but don’t make me feel ethically bankrupt. That said, as a words of affirmation gal, I know it’s time to say goodnight to Claude when the affirmations the end of my chat make me teary. 👀

That moment when you come across an old apron in the back of a kitchen drawer and realize you got it as a SWAG gift at a Women of Joy conference a decade ago. Freaking patriarchy. 😤

It’s not lost on me that Jon Foreman’s Instead of a Show started playing on my shuffled playlist while I read this.

We could’ve had 8 years of Hillary and be into our first few months of a Kamala presidency. Instead, we have this. 😑

There is no point in Senate Democrats voting to fund the government only to let Trump and Musk do whatever they see fit with those funds.

Dems should only vote for a continuing resolution if it stops DOGE pillaging and fully funds services.

The question today is the same as it was during the first Gilded Age: Will we fight for an economy and a democracy that works for all rather than a wealthy few?
From Robber Barons to Bezos: Is History Repeating Itself? | Robert Reich
We’re now in the Second Gilded Age. As in the first, America’s wealth is in the hands of a few, conspicuous consumption exists alongside homelessness and hunger, monopolies crush competition, money corrupts politics, and working people are abused and exploited. The good news? Just like back then, we can fix it.

Why is Trump waging a war on the Department of Education?

Because he knows that his biggest enemies are educators and younger generations of learners who are unafraid to speak truth to power.

Attacks on education are central to the fascist playbook.

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.

I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

America has not always lived up to its ideals as a nation, particularly with foreign policy. We must be honest about that.

This moment from both Trump and Vance was reprehensible and yet another move to support global autocracy.

We must continue to push for a higher standard from our leaders.

Donald Trump is embarrassing the United States on the world stage. We are a country that stands up to dictators and fights for democracy.

Minnesota stands firmly with our allies in Ukraine.

What if we become fascinated by the complexity of our kids, rather than worried about it?

Let's be willing to know our children as they actually are rather than to simply apply labels for behavior or symbols for their season of life.

Book bans impact public libraries & bookstores, but it’s school libraries where they are rampant ❤️‍🩹

Many kids are unable to make it to the public library. They can’t drive, often times the library isn’t in walking distance. It’s not that their grown-ups don’t want them to be library kids.

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.
The average person with the flu gives it to around 1.4 people. The average person with measles gives it to between 12 and 18 people.
