So who wants to see some #zombie #fungi? I cleared some camphor saplings and lantana vine over weekend. The amount of #entomopathogenic fungi I found was getting really annoying. Ugh put down tools, get out camera, take photo for the wonderful bluesky people, pick back up tools. Repeat #fungifriends
Baby #katydids got that adorable streak

The best thing about exploring Earth imho, is how most places you go have a similar life form cast, and yet, its always a little different. That subtle infinite variety, ever changing and morphing. Its just rad. A pulsing branching life explosion that extends through time like a seam of opal.

It is almost impossible to move through most rainforest in NE NSW without walking through the webs of the Four-spined Spiny Orbweaver aka #Gasteracantha quadrispinosa. They all seem to have unique butt patterns. A very common but very pretty little #spider.

Some fungi finds after the recent rain here. #fungifriends

Theres not much left when a predatory #fungi is finished with a beetle meal

Some of the nicest fungi to photograph are the most common. Golden scruffy aka #Cyptotrama aspratum are a reliable way to make you glad you left the house :)

Diversity is something you learn to love. The more different life all cluttered together, the greater the chance of seeing awesome #zombi #fungi #parasitoids like #purpureocillium

Leaving aside how cool these arky spiders are for a second, y'all can see why I call them #screaming #cat #spiders right?

For what its worth, I vote we do what United Nations Special Rapporteur, Francesca Albanese, says. Its the only decent thing to do. And will help us all sleep at night.

A selection of #EarthlingCards photos, showing the many decoy life forms that frequently fool learning #zombie fungi hunters. None of these are entomopathogenic fungi, but would they fool you? #NoRestForTheDead

Riders on the storm. Watching the fruit bats setting off to feed, flying low to avoid being swept out to sea by the wild wind gusts of our first proper storm in months. With luck we will get a few days of rain, and some good fungi flushes :)

Trillions of bugs fear not only these beetles, but their monster kids. But they aren't always stalking the lives of the living. Not when mankind rarely eats what it kills. Why a clever bug can live quite well beside the strange cave monkeys. Hug the tiger, confirmed once again as sound strategy :)
