I'm going to say it again:
Immigration is good, actually.
There are no qualifications on this statement other than "don't be a comemierda" and that goes no matter what.
"Legal" and "illegal" are artificial categories imposed by States with arbitrary rules, usually with suboptimal outcomes.

This fucking thing has TEN co-sponsors and my very first thought was to wonder which KY reps signed on.
Thankfully none, but I'm sure that's just because no one told James Comer it was happening.
Palestinian civilians are being relentlessly bombed by the Israeli government—thousands of Palestinian children dead. And Rep. Zinke's response is to try to kick out any Palestinians who may be in our country.

This fear-driven cruelty should have no place in American politics.

random weird fact I know: the first recorded use of the singular “they” in the English language was the 1375 story “William and the Werewolf,” obv referring to the werewolf

so happy halloween to all they/thems carrying on a fine 700-year tradition, be gay be cryptid get candy
the “they” in “they follow” is wokeism

2nd year in a row I'm asking the big kids trick-or-treating at my parent's neighborhood for a joke before they get their candy.

Our son, offended by Elon’s claims to be autistic, says he merely has “Xperger’s syndrome”, not autism.

it's hard to convey how obnoxious it is with ADHD where the reward subsystem that's supposed to release nice feelings chemicals just doesn't exist.

I often talk with my (also ADHD) sister about how in the past people had more support than they do now, through marriage, family, or servants. So really successful people with ADHD, who seemed to never struggle, basically often had someone quietly doing all their life admin in the background.
Ive been spending a bunch of time with family recently

Aaaand, yeah. I planted seeds a while ago, and they sprouted recently

My mom drinks coffee to help out, can drink it at night with no effect

It turns out my dad was (incredibly patiently) always keeping her on track

There have been a lot of people claiming that ADHD and autism are being over diagnosed to try and excuse this so just a friendly reminder that that is total bullshit and adult diagnosis rates are still far lower than should be expected based on prevalence studies.

Self-dx is valid. In case you weren't aware.
Get tested if you want, so you can get help, etc. but knowing is often a lot of the battle. Probably more than half.
“…adults who self-identify as autistic seem to have a reasonably accurate recognition of autism/autistic traits in themselves. We think this is something that should be considered in the referral and diagnostic process of an adult autism assessment.”

Responsible self-identification is VALID.

Is there an ADHD person this *hasn't* happened to? Christ it feels almost like a rite of passage. (In the worst way.)
Having ADHD can undermine our trust in ourselves and lead us to develop intense self-doubt.

For example, when we know we struggle to remember things, we can begin trust other people's memory over our own. This can make us doubt our memory of events or even our sense of reality

Your regular reminder that pandemics are social problems, which cannot be solved by the products of biomedical research if the social infrastructure necessary for delivering said products is in fucking tatters.
