While we’re talking about recycling guilt…a lot of people don’t realize recycling relies on supply and demand. If there’s no one who wants to buy plastic pellets then that stuff goes to the dump. Reduce and re-use is more important then recycle. I wrote an explainer a few years ago:

A company that has no other choice than to stick "Asset Protection Guards" on every exit, demand receipt checks, double your grocery bill, because they're truly, utterly struggling folks.
