'Matt Gaetz Raped A Homeless Teenager' is what you mean.

A teenager with a homeless parent? What? The fuck? Did she have a home and not allow her parent to live in it? Ended up having sex with? What? Yeah clearly you guys been caping for pedos long enough and you understand the assignment here
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

here at the Paper of Record, when an open white supremacist leaks someone's college application in an attempt to imply he got unfair race-based special treatment, even though he was rejected, we know what to do: publish it immediately prospect.org/2025/07/09/2...

I always get a kick out of the NYT Defense Squad trotting out harrumphing takes about how serious journalists don't report on mere speculation, blow things out of proportion, dig into their colleagues' email, etc etc

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Well, unfortunately
Threat of victory looms large over Election Day as an ominous portent of a future that could leave Dems in array; party elders scramble to contain the risk
The framing of this is hilarious: Democrats deeply worried about the repercussions of a victory

"Authoritarianism can’t abide the concept of public health[...] It proposes limits on both government and individual activity, and the rationale for those limitations is grounded in the scientific process—it quite literally can appeal to an authority greater than whoever leads the state."

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)

I skipped this article for a while because I figured I'd read enough about the NYT's Mamdani coverage. I don't want to say the headline does the article a disservice - it is also very much about that - but goes well beyond as well

Representation with actual policy power is the way we transform these systems. Not just "listening and learning," or "being a voice for the voiceless," but sharing actual decision-making leadership with folks who are most impacted. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
just want to remind everyone again that zohran is the one cis candidate i am aware of that had his platform on trans rights written by trans people. i think that matters

They aren't afraid of Mamdani, they are worried about what he would unleash among VOTERS. That those voters would say: "actually, we're not buying this centrist bullshit you've been shoveling for decades, we want something else." That's what's being litigated in these Dem elites are worried essays.

I’m coining the phrase “the centrist two-step.” Step 1 is declaring that the left needs to focus on kitchen table issues instead of social issues to win back voters and step 2 is insisting that all left-wing approaches to kitchen table issues are impossible to deliver on.
Abigail Spanberger takes a swipe at Mamdani, saying "maybe he should be a Democrat" and that his campaign promises are dishonest.

I am so upset.

Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/
To be asked to write about racism only to be racially aggressed in the editing process is a new level unlocked I have to say.

Over 12% of people in the US are on SNAP (food stamps). The majority of recipients who are able to work do so, but are on SNAP because they work low-wage jobs.

👉 People need to understand that the US gov't is not giving handouts to individual people, but SUBSIDIZING LOW-WAGE EMPLOYERS. (1/2)

We are offering one time payments to disabled folks in the South who will not receive their SNAP benefits this month. If you need help, please find more information and details at ndsdj.org/snaphelp.

If you’d like to donate to the fund, go to ndsdj.org/snapdonate
