Dr. McCray made history in 2024 as the first Black woman to run for US Senate in Indiana. Dr. Val and her Team generated a Primary win in 90 out of 92 counties in her home state. As a psychologist, she knows We The People need a breathable wage.

The past few years, while listening to my fellow Hoosiers and witnessing the attacks from the right on our democracy, I asked myself, why not? Why not become the first woman, an African American Woman, to represent the great state of Indiana as a United States Senator?

2025… not backing down.
My former opponent, Jim Banks, will green light all policy that Trump and Musk demand… even if it destroys public safety and American lives.

I will never be beholden to any President or Billionaire.

I promise to take an oath to the Constitution and the country I love.
Less than a month since a crash that took 67 lives, Trump is firing hundreds of federal employees who inspect and maintain air traffic control communications, radio and computer systems.

This is extremely dangerous and could have deadly consequences.

Survivors of sexual harassment and assault deserve fair treatment under the law.

It's unacceptable that a woman who has been raped, who endured immense pain and trauma, or had to quit her job to escape harassment may face tax burdens on the compensation she rightfully deserves.

Where does the accumulated debt of this country come from? It comes from Republican Presidents going back to Ronald Reagan. 3/4 of the accumulated debt of this country is due to Republican Presidents who didn't pay for their spending—so much for Republican's being the party of fiscal responsibility.

The Republican budget proposal undermines the middle class by cutting education, health care, food assistance and other essential programs that help millions of American families to fund tax cuts for corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

As Dr. Val travels the state of Indiana, she outlines ways to take action and how to stay laser focused on your advocacy. The rate of proposed policy changes and Executive Orders is like drinking through a firehose and it’s intentional. Focus on three personal priorities.

Together we will ARISE!

Unlike my GOP opponent in 2024, I showed up to debate.

I showed up to events across Indiana to talk to the people to hear their concerns.

So much of leadership is about showing up. I’m keeping my vow.

When I traveled my state, my message of Breathable Wages resonated deeply.

None of us voted for extreme Government Overreach.

None of us voted for higher Grocery Bills.

None of us voted for Elon Musk to get our Private Information.

All of us voted for Breathable Wages.

SHARE my message.

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out.

This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

Today in 2025, red states are making it harder to do our Civic Duty.
Today in US History: On Feb. 3, 1870, the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granted black men the right to vote. It was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869. Black Americans were set free by the 13th amendment. The 14th Amendment guaranteed citizenship.

With 25 years as a Psychologist,I've seen how U.S. policies impact mental well being. I’ve worked with veterans struggling with PTSD, incarcerated individuals in desperate need of support, youth struggling to overcome the effects of violence, and more.

I have the skills, compassion and fight.
