Ongoing measles outbreaks in Ontario.

Sigh of relief from parents as their 12 month and 4 year olds get 1st and 2nd doses of MMR vaccine.

Infants 6m-11m may have early extra dose in areas with outbreaks.

Adults are also eligible for boosters: born pre-1970 eligible for 1 dose, post-1970, 2 doses.

Antiviral resistance in animals. It's not a topic that gets a lot of attention and concerns are pretty niche overall, since antiviral use is limited.

But, there are things to consider.

Just don't feed wildlife in general. It's a bad idea for numerous reasons: disease, safety, etc.
Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, farmed-deer #CWD case triggers baiting ban in adjoining county

Baiting and feeding encourage deer to congregate around a shared food source, risking the transmission of CWD.

Rats carrying disease often evokes images of the plague, but it's important to have all the facts before worrying. We don't know yet if rat-to-rat transmission or transmission from rats to other species can/is occurring effectively. It's important to stay vigilant, but don't panic.
