‘Teenage Intimacies’ is now officially out in the world! It’s a history of teenage sexuality in postwar England that speaks to ideas of growing up, adolescence, friendship, family, identity, culture and education. It’s been a long time coming but I’m really proud of the end result! 🗃️ #histsex

It was a pleasure to be joined by @vawright10.bsky.social earlier this week. Valerie's paper explored the experiences of children and teenagers in Scotland's new towns, and reflected on what these places came to mean for families and their children.

New letter to the Secretary of State for Education, from @artsandhums.bsky.social, on the impact and implications of current losses in UK HE #skystorians
The Arts and Humanities Alliance have written an open letter to Bridget Philippson, Secretary of State for Education, on the recently announced cuts across the sector. We are concerned that these measures disproportionately affect our disciplines and call for an urgent government review.

If 1000 job losses were announced in one day for another industry, it would make the top headlines. This one is going to take people by surprise with huge impacts on other sectors, cities, regions, life plans...
I've always told you the truth about the university crisis, haven't I? Always got my predictions right, indeed perhaps a bit on the cautious side? Well, my view now: there is a non-zero tail risk of a rapid implosion of most of Britain's HE system over the next two years. Stark, but true.
