This pretty much sums it up. It's hard to find any way to salvage hope for the future. The people spoke loudly and nobody in power cares. I'd say I hope every last one of them gets primaried, but it's hard to believe in elections at this point. @democrats.senate.gov betrayed us.

The New York Times quickly sending out Douthat to argue that Mamdani’s victory doesn’t really matter is so predictable it borders on self-parody.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

I really need the Cubs to win the WS. Beyond being a fan, I've been convinced since they broke the curse in 2016 that they opened some kind of wormhole that let Trump in. I'm hoping that another win might send him back out. Because the Republicans sure AF aren't doing it.
