For 12wks I’ve been in Cohort 3 of the Beanstalk Drought Resilience Lab.

It gave us structured commercialisation support, market validation, investor readiness & direct mentoring from agrifood venture builders. I was selected to the final 8 & pitched my idea at an innovator showcase.

Steve Woloshin has for years taught journalists how to read and interpret scientific studies accurately. Ironic to see one of his own papers is mis-cited and misrepresented in the MAHA report on the health of children. www.statnews.com/2025/06/20/m...
The MAHA children’s health report mis-cited our research. That’s sloppy — and worrying
Being cited in a major government report, like the MAHA report on children’s health, should be gratifying. Not this time.

A breakdown in biosecurity in the US is a global issue. This & other reports suggest that the H5N1 outbreak in the US is still spreading in dairy & poultry populations.

How soon before it is carried to Australia?

US singled out Aussie beef when justifying tariffs, saying US beef is banned from import.

Yet 🇦🇺 Dept Ag says there’s no ban on importing US beef provided it can prove the beef was from cattle born/ raised/slaughtered in US.

In 2022, international students added $29 billion to the Australian economy, contributing approx $25.5 billion through tuition fees & living expenses.

Loss of 80k students would remove approx $3.3B from the economy

How many houses could be built with that?

Twenty-four hours into his time, Sen. Booker just passionately defended public science and universities-- which, at their best, are cornerstones of democracy and a powerful tool for collective liberation (which is why they've been so aggressively attacked).

Thank you, Senator.

Tariffs. 🙄 Why on earth don't America's "trading partners" just get together and turn off the tap.

There cannot possibly be anything America has that you can't get elsewhere. And sell your stuff to someone else. It probably wouldn't take long to bring matters to a head.
