Eco-spirituality pioneer Charlene Spretnak has long inspired me. I sent her my book and she replied with a endorsement:
"[this book] shows us how to achieve a sensuous and aware immersion in nature... so gentle, wise, and encouraging — urgently needed in our hypermodern world.”
I’m deeply honored.

"Nature helps us practice acceptance. It teaches us to see without judgment and reminds us of our deep interconnection with all life. This awareness naturally gives rise to greater compassion". From 'Nature Connection: Remembering Wholeness'.

There’s been a lot of talk about flags lately, so I thought it was about time I raised one. This is the Union Jill, a symbol of protest at the Twyford Down in the 1990s. It seems appropriate to raise the Union Jill again now as a symbol of resistance to fear, oppression and greed.

My first review describes the book I aimed to write:
"inspiring and practical ... I love how it is filled with lots of clear and practical exercises. Really recommend this for all people - no matter how connected to nature you feel we always can go deeper". Thank you!

“For centuries, we’ve looked for ways in which humans are different from other animals. But this is entirely wrong-headed. What makes us human is not our differences, but our ecological belonging. As a human being, you are a member of a wider community of species and ecosystems. You belong here”.

Very unsatisfying discussion on BBCRadio4 about whether democracy is a failed experiment. Where was the anarchist expert? Sophie Scott-Brown would have offered a genuine alternative. Is anarchist thought ignored because it's uncomfortably reasonable?

Many of the ideas in my new book came not from research, but from time in the woods.
Walking, listening, and noticing with all my senses shaped the book’s 60+ practices—and the stories of Nu and Fa, an ancestral family who live in its pages.

There are three keys to #nature connection: slow down, get curious, and use all your senses. Find out how these three keys can transform your relationship with the natural world in my new book, 'Nature Connection: Remembering Wholeness'.

Given Reality: embodiment, the other-than-human, our animality.
Invented Reality: Nations, money, etc.
Why do we give so much attention to what's been made up and so little to what's given? Maybe it's partly a distraction 🤔. The result is what we might call an 'industrialized mentality'.

There's common narrative that #racism is an innate human trait. That's wrong. As Steve Taylor explains, "racism is a symptom of psychological ill-health, a sign of #anxiety and of a lack of identity and inner security". theconversation.com/racism-isnt-...
Racism isn’t innate – here are five psychological stages that may lead to it
There is no genetic or biological basis for dividing the human race into distinct “races.”

Research shows that personality shapes psychedelic experience; high openness → mystical journeys, high neuroticism → difficult ones. The good news? Personality traits can change and #nature connection helps increase openness & reduce neuroticism. Blog 👉 embodiedpathways.org/2025/08/20/p...

We didn’t lose nature—
we lost our connection to it. 🌿

After decades exploring ecotherapy & mindfulness, I found 3 foolproof steps to reconnect:

1️⃣ Slow Down
2️⃣ Get Curious
3️⃣ Use All Your Senses

Embodied knowing is messy, tacit, and hard to put into words. So how do we #research it? That question led me to develop the Focusing interview. The National Centre for Research Methods invited me to share more about my journey: www.ncrm.ac.uk/news/show.ph...
NCRM News | How I developed the focusing interview – a new approach to researching embodied knowing
Embodied knowing is transdisciplinary. Although we might identify its roots in phenomenology, it has been identified in fields as diverse as anthropology, business studies, computing, cognitive neuro
