They think you’re stupid.
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

Any Democratic Senator who didn't wake up this morning calling for Schumer's resignation gets primaried, the end.

Take the Democratic Party away from Democratic leadership.
I can't stress this enough as a super volunteer for the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates. This should prompt you to get MORE involved, not less. Show up and use the existing infrastructure to make it work for all of us. In my neck of the woods, we've seen a ton of local victories this way.
Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.

yes! I felt the same when I saw it as a kid (w/o catching the atomic war metaphors, obvs.).

Probably a summer $1 matinee or on TV as a Saturday afternoon ‘creature feature’ movie. Thinking back it’d have been around…1976? ‘78?…when this Godzilla was ~24 y.o. — newer than Jurassic Park is now.
For most of the original 1954 Godzilla, the monster serves as a horrific nuclear metaphor - atomic doom incarnate. However, for one scene at the end, you get to see him rather aimlessly walking around on the ocean floor, and it's always struck me as such a profoundly lonely moment.

If you're pretending to be a political party, bit really you're a club for #billionaires to skim the last bits of wealth off the country and the only semblence of a popular base you can scrape together is from racists and #incels, the "Nazl problem" is inevitable.

The reason people think the Democratic Party doesn't actually stand for anything is because it doesn't.

I will not be watching or reading any "analyses" about the Democratic party in D.C. I know all about them & their complicity. I'm not interested and I choose to reclaim my time and attention.

There're other kinds of politics to engage & most importantly to do (including in our local communities).

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Democratic caver Jeanne Shaheen: "Hopefully, our Republican colleagues will work with us."
Sigh.
We've got to defeat the Weimar Democrats before we can defeat the fascist Republicans.

This obit of Watson is *amazing*.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

UPDATE: Reached out to the Rev. Hannah Kardon, a United Methodist minister who was there that day and has been active in religious demonstrations at Broadview.

“They are making it clear that they are scared of prayer … it speaks the truth that what they are doing in that building is evil.”
