I love this post - thank you @scripting.com for bringing this energy to blogging, for decades!
I never gave up on blogging.

We have a great platform in WordPress.

It should be compared to Mastodon and Bluesky.

Here's the case I made in a piece I wrote last Thursday.
Think Different about WordPress
Dave Winer, OG blogger, podcaster, developed first apps in many categories. Old enough to know better. It's even worse than it appears.

For me, this is the most remarkable Backlisted episode. After seeing the 1989 movie (which was … a lot), I started this show unenthused and knowing for a fact I would never read it. After @salenagodden.bsky.social’s spectacular reading, though, I bought the book and rated it 5 stars.
This evening's Beat and Counterculture Reading Group, diving deep into Hubert Selby Jr. Played the fabulous reading from The Queen is Dead chapter by Salena Godden from @backlisted.bsky.social as an opener. Here's my well-read old copy of the book...

This week a Republican congressman called for the denaturalization of a Democratic elected official, invoking a key mechanism through which the Holocaust was perpetrated.

In response, Democratic Party leaders have rushed to cable news to declare that the Republicans have a point about that guy.

if i dismissed that young dev, we both would have missed out on that nice connection. i noticed more new folks in the chat starting to engage and ask questions too, ones they can ask an ai - but i was approachable to them in that moment so they didn’t have to. just something i have been noticing!
