We flushed the hot water heater for the first time and it had small rocks and sand in it, not the normal calcium silt looking material. (The people we bought the house from replaced it shortly before listing the house a little over 2 years ago.) What's in the water here?

Anthony Boyd has been executed.
A few things to consider, Mr. Boyd's court appointed attorney told the judge he didn't feel he had adequate time to prepare for the trial and didn't present alibi evidence in favor of his client. The jury was NOT unanimous, voting 10-2 for guilt and the death penalty.
Alabama is scheduled to kill Anthony Boyd by way of nitrogen suffocation today. Boyd has a longshot request for a stay of execution pending at the Supreme Court. www.supremecourt.gov/docket/docke...

If the execution proceeds, it will be Alabama's 5th this year and the 40th in the U.S. in 2025.

I'm a decades long vegetarian so there isn't a lot about the beef industry that makes sense to me but why wouldn't we prioritize and support US beef over any other beef, especially during a recession?
U.S. cattle ranchers and some of the biggest groups representing them are voicing heated opposition to Trump’s decision to quadruple beef imports from Argentina.

Rosa Flores spoke with Nebraska cattle ranchers and David Noriega reports from a ranch in Argentina.

Watching all of these unfolding economic, political, and social problems feels like the moments before you're in an accident and you know it's going to happen and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

We found immigration agents have held more than 170 *citizens*

The govt doesn't track citizens held. So we did. We tallied:

Nearly 20 kids, two w/ cancer

More than 20 citizens held for day or more, incommunicado

This admin is a pit of doom.
Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.
