I just got back from Les Beltaines in Quebec. Had some great melee moments in the combined Heavy List and Rapier scenario. Strange to be fighting in conjunction with the other form, but it was handled safely and well. Once the East figured out how the scenario worked on the ground, we rallied. 1/X

I am not a tourney fighter. I prefer melee and singles outside the tournament pressure cooker,
but I fought in a very high stakes tournament on Saturday. I was delighted to discover my own tournament head space.
I did the best I have ever done in a tournament!
I might do it again.

Small moments of awe:
Mist, moving slowly across a dawn field, shafts of the sun not yet strong enough to disperse it's gloom. A red winged blackbird rises out of the field, into the light, singing.

I probably deserved it

This is a useful reminder.
Actually, I build my work teams like this too.

Omg Politicians:
Stop.Using.X.

You compromise the message you are delivering by using X as a vehicle of communication.

The American people can't trust, or believe, anything coming from that platform.

Today I am wearing stompy boots, leggings with mushrooms on them, a short purple skirt, a wine colored wool tunic top and a green wool, zip up, hoodie. My hair is unwashed, & there is dirt under my fingernails because I was in the greenhouse potting up seedlings.
I look hot.

Crone is the new black.

leaden sky,
neither rain nor snow,
but something in-between.
mud.
shouldn't spring feel like hope?

Awe,
when it comes,
is bridegroom to light.
there is none of that
on the horizon.

Stocking up on canned goods while choice is still plentiful, and prices have not yet risen.
There are limits on eggs.
I flashback to grocery runs during COVID Times. Different limits then.

I start shaking with rage.
We already did this.
We already did this.

April Fools jokes are only funny in a world that prioritizes truth telling, and uses words to honestly communicate, not deceive.

That is no longer our world.

April Fools jokes in 2025 are just another type of disinformation; I am out of patience for those kinds of pranks.

HHS has a proposed change to the ACA that removes gender-affirming care from essential health benefits, and excludes DACA recipients from the ACA. The comment period closes 4/11
Some dope-ass people I know put together a site to help you comment. Plz share

Purity culture is bullshit.
It was bullshit when it came to prominence in the 1990s, and it is still bullshit, in it's evolved form today. And the evolved form, mutated really, has moved firmly into progressive spaces and I am not here for it.

Are we at Constitutional Crisis yet?
I just want to know if we have to keep waiting, or if the Dems can just leap straight to the correct conclusion and start acting like adults.
An enquiring American has lost patience. I want someone who has the power to do the thing.

My first reaction to grief
is to fall silent.
To lock my words
far away from
my pen, my tongue.

And then
with picks, a hammer,
a drill, I break into the word hoard,
a thief after my own gold.

Hail the Traveller,
Master Toki.
May your word fame live ever.

Small moments of awe:
The edge of water, last year's cattails are fluffy banners, still and unmoving. They stand in shadow, except where the sunrise has painted their edges gold and russet: a remembered autumn.

Bots or People I have blocked today, an occasional series:

Tell me why the hell this account thinks I would follow it back?
What about this tiny little fragment of information is compelling enough for me to go "ooo! I DEFINITELY want to know more about this guy"?

Small moments of awe:
Bright winter, blue sky. A small brown druid, a sparrow, wheels across the space between the sun and I, feathers stretching in the wind. For a scintilla of time her wing become a prism, shining with holy light.
