Latinos aren’t just turning away from the Democrats – they’re becoming more politically disengaged find @derekwakefield.bsky.social of Bucknell University, Bernard L. Fraga of Emory University and Colin Fisk

Out now: my article (w/ Bernard Fraga and Colin Fisk) @JREP on trends in Latino party ID over the last 3 decades. We find relative stability through the Obama years but declining Democratic and accelerating Independent ID during the Trump years cup.org/42Uq8Dg

I got to speak with a German reporter at Deutsche Welle for their Spanish-language section on the topic of recent memes depicting "regretful Latino Trump supporters" being deported.

I emphasized that Latino voters are by definition not undocumented:

¿Se arrepienten latinos en EE. UU. de haber votado a Trump? – DW – 14/02/2025
En Internet circulan varios videos e imágenes de latinos en EE. UU. que o bien se arrepienten de haber votado a Trump o bien están a punto de ser deportados. ¿Es eso cierto?

IT'S OFFICIAL! My article "It's the Economy: The Effect of Economic Policy Appeals on Latino Independents" has been published at
@PolBehavior

I argue that while Latino partisans are already sorted, Latinos who remain independent are more persuaded by economic appeals

Mississippi has a bill introduced (HB 1484) that:

1. Makes "being an illegal alien" a felony, punishable by LIFE IN PRISON
2. Deputizes "illegal alien bounty hunters" and pays $1000 per person incarcerated
3. Creates a "labor board"

Absolutely disgusting

MY FIRST PUBLICATION JUST GOT OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED!!!!

I argue that Latino voters and especially independents are often persuaded by campaign appeals on economic topics (e.g., jobs, healthcare, education)

Thank you to @PolBehavior and I’m excited to share the final proof soon!
