Okay. I’m very negative about last nights game. We have been fucking bad when it mattered. BUT there is a positive.

Laine, Caufield and Newhook, who have all been a little bit snake bitten, scored. My hope is that getting the monkey off the back a little may help. Fingers crossed.

I’m over it. Don’t bother with playoffs. This team clearly doesn’t want it seeing as they haven’t even tried in a first period in two weeks. Matheson is gone first chance we get. Savard is done. Armia not re-signed. Can’t have vets that play their worst in moments like these. Matheson has been awful

Man if only the Habs had a real 1C so perennial Hart candidate Nathan MacKinnon wouldn’t torch us so hard…
nathan mackinnon had zero points. that's insane. 6 shots, -2, 38% at the dot.

that's impressive work from montreal.

Fuck both Vancouver and Calgary. How does Vancouver lose that fucking game. And the only thing Calgary does well is keep the puck out of their net and somehow they let the islanders score 2 in 10? Come the fuck on.

I could be wrong but I have a really bad feeling that if we miss playoffs, tonight will be a big reason why. Very winnable game.

For fun, what centre’s are better? Let’s see how many we can get.

MacKinnon, McDavid, Draisaitl, Matthews (not this season), Jack Hughes(?), Eichel, Barkov, Point… Sid is still playing exceptionally so maybe him too…? Who am I missing? Anyone? That’s 9 and some are probably not better this year
Nick Kypreos: “When the Habs contend for the Stanley Cup, I’m not even sure Nick Suzuki is a #1 centre for me.”

Justin Bourne: “Yeah you’re probably right…He’s probably the 25th best centre in the league or something you know?”

Nick Suzuki is 8th in points among NHL centres.

When the Habs are back in town for the Avalanche game, I’m gonna need ENORMOUS applause for Brendan Gallagher after his amazing game last game and the loss of his mother so soon after having his own kid, we need to remind him how loved he is here. We need to be LOUD please Habs fans

Horvat would lowkey be an excellent 2C for the Habs. Likely never happens cause his contract goes til ‘31 but if they’re ever open to moving him I think he’d be a great 2C
“Who would you say is the most underrated player in the NHL?”

Bo Horvat of the NY Islanders: “I’d like to say probably Nick Suzuki. He's got a lot of really great qualities to his game. He's turning into a really good leader. He's a great hockey player."

Interesting stat that I haven’t seen mentioned very much, the Canadiens have the best record vs Atlantic teams in the division. It’s not super close either. 2nd is the Leafs but the Habs kinda run the division. Might be a nightmare matchup if they manage to get WC1

Sneakily, Suzuki is one of the sturdiest players in the league. Low center of gravity and just so strong
One does not simply hit Nick Suzuki

Great night for Habs fans. Flames lose (we want them to narrowly miss playoffs for the draft pick) Columbus lose, and Bruins lost (although I think they’re kinda done for already imo)

It’s done more than just revive playoff hope; it’s reinforced desire to push Habs to next phase. 1v1 with KH: www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/...
Kent Hughes eager to guide Canadiens from relevance to prominence

In 2025, the Montreal Canadiens have only lost 5 games when Emil Heineman is in the lineup. (2 regulation, 2 OT 1 SO)

Meaning the Canadiens with Heineman have earned 23 points of a potential 30 points, or a .767 points percentage this year.

Barring major injuries, they will make the playoffs

This probably isn’t allowed but the dems who voted yes should be killed in the street. Publicly. Treason. They no longer are public servants and are going against the very democratic system that elected them. There is no level of hell hot enough for them

Obviously I want Hutson to win the Calder, but this class of rookies is just so much better than any class in the last decade that I’m fine whoever wins it. Wolf and Celebrini are soooo good, even if Hutson doesn’t win, I won’t be too mad. (He should win it though)

Two goals tonight off some GREAT effort. Slaf and Suzy both showing a ton of strength there

That is a brutal loss for the Habs. Calgary moves up (bad for the pick we have from them) we move down, 3 point game between Sens and rags. NOT the way we wanted to come out of the deadline
March 9, 2025 at 3:17 AM
Laughton a -1 and Carlo a -2 in their first games as leafs so far lol
March 9, 2025 at 12:35 AM
It’s a genuine puck knowledge test to look at a Habs fan reaction to the deadline. If they’re upset, they’re probably not someone you should listen to much
