@acarboni.bsky.social listening to podcast and I don’t wanna alarm you, but it’s pretty easy to remove the low flow restrictor from any showerhead. Lots of tutorial videos on YouTube. Easiest quality of life increase hack I do in every new house I live in.

Thankfully nobody wants me, an airline pilot sitting reserve, to list 5 things I’ve done. All I can come up with is four.
- flown as a passenger from home to my base
- sat around airport doing nothing
- sat around hotel doing nothing
- flown as a passenger from my base to home

Aviation safety hasn’t been compromised (yet) by the hatchet job to the government. Instead, efficiency of an already horribly inefficient organization (FAA) has been compromised. Slow response to admin issues (like medical certificates) will be even slower.

I remember in late 2011 when someone bragged to me “don’t tell anyone but I jailbroke my Xoom” and I responded “don’t worry I won’t tell anyone you have a Xoom” and it was probably the best joke I ever had and it’s been downhill ever since.

Terminal B at IAH is the absolute definition of controlled chaos.

But the emphasis, somehow, is on controlled. I feel for these Gate Agents that have to help people understand the weird process here.

Woke up feeling something terrible. Had to call in sick for this weekend’s adventure. Less than ideal, but glad it’s not something that I can do.

My landing tonight was so exceptional some say we never even landed. We probably should’ve written the weight on wheels switch up as still operating so dispatch would know we landed. So… I’m almost certain to cause shame upon my house on the next one. Call the chiropractor now.

I’ve seen a few folks trying to compare last week’s TSA loads to the same weekday a year ago in service of a claim that we are on the verge of economic calamity. Last year’s Thanksgiving was as early as possible. Colors here match up to show this year is slightly busier for travel.
